About the event
Required course to sail with us! Become acquainted with the layout of the Gazela ahead of this summer's sailing season. Learn what to look out for to make sure the she's ship-shape and safe, and pick up some new nomenclature. If you're lucky, we might have time to show you Barge Poplar (our workshop and storage space down the Landing) and Tugboat Jupiter (who is her own entirely unique vessel).
We will be setting sail for the Chesapeake this summer for six weeks, and we need a trained crew! Starting with an Intro to the Guild session is the perfect way to get involved with our nonprofit organization. Afterwards, we welcome you to do some work on the ship to get us prepared for her multi-week voyage! It's a great way to learn some hard trade skills that will help you down the road.
