While not a Sailing Requirement, you will certainly need this intermediate skill if sailing with us. To be as competent a crew member as possible on our Chesapeake voyage for America 250 festivals, you'll want to have this under your belt.

About the event

While not a Sailing Requirement, you will certainly need this nuanced skill if sailing with us. As a 125-year old original wooden vessel, and not a replica, Gazela's windlass requires a minimum of one practice round.

We will be setting sail for the Chesapeake this summer for six weeks, and we need a trained crew! Starting with an Intro to the Guild session is the perfect way to get involved with our nonprofit organization. Afterwards, we welcome you to do some work on the ship to get us prepared for her multi-week voyage! It's a great way to learn some hard trade skills that will help you down the road.

We love having new people, so come one, come all! Wear closed-toed shoes and clothing you don't mind getting dirty.
