This event is geared towards anyone curious about the rich potential with a career in Maritime Welding. Expert welder Leslie Weitz, will be answering questions, sharing her own journey, and showing examples of work aboard the Philadelphia Ship Preservation Guild's Gazela Primeiro, a 125-year old wooden fishing vessel.
Join us aboard the floating workshop Barge Poplar at the northern end of Penn's Landing (essentially across from the dog park - coordinates 39°56'59.1"N 75°08'22.4"W) at 10:00am.
Please note, this is not necessarily a demonstration or a skill-building session - mainly an introduction to an in-demand career option!
This event is free, and intended for either young professionals, students, or anyone considering a career shift into the maritime trades.
