When Gazela is at sea, a knowledgeable and efficient crew is her only resource in an emergency. A vigilant crew can catch a potential emergency early enough to increase the chances of a successful outcome. Of course, the best way to deal with an emergency is not to have one.
When dockside, the crew has the added resource of fully functioning port emergency services (i.e., fire department, ambulance, Coast Guard, etc.), as well as the added responsibility of visitors. The crew must make the evacuation of visitors a priority before performing any shipboard emergency response.
